Before you get in touch please read the following FAQ's to see if your question is covered. We are extremely busy caring for the animals and I'm afraid we do not have time to reply to emails, letters and calls which relate to information which can be found here.

I need to rehome/want to adopt a cat/dog/rabbit/reptile. Can you help?

No, I'm afraid not. We are currently exclusively a small rodent rescue which means the animals we can take in or have looking for homes are limited to rats, mice, hamsters, gerbils, chinchillas and degus. For any other animal please have a look at the links page for ideas of other rescues who might be able to help.

I need to rehome my small rodent. Can you please help?

We will try. STAR is a small, home run rescue so our space is rather limited. You might also want to check our links page to see if there are other rescues in your area if you're not local. Otherwise please email us with as much detail as possible as the animal(s) you need to rehome and we'll help if and when we can (we may sometimes have a waiting list).

I want to adopt an animal. Is *insert animal name* still available/do you have any *animal type*?

The listings of animals needing homes are kept pretty up to date so chances are if they're still listed on the website, they're still available and if we don't have any of a particular animal on the site then we probably don't have any. Please have a look on the links page for details of other rescues who might be able to help.

Do you have any jobs/volunteer opportunities/work experience placements?

No, I'm afraid not. STAR is a small home run rescue, we have no funds to pay staff. And as it is run from our home we're unable to accept any offers of help with the animals here currently.

Where are you based?

STAR is located in Wallington, Surrey, SM6. This is between Sutton and Croydon on the South London/Surrey border. We do not publish our address to avoid animals being abandoned on our doorstep. If you need to contact us by post please email for details.

I have found an injured wild bird or animal or have a problem with pest wildlife. Can you help?

We do not have facilities to care for wild animals at the moment but there are several wildlife care facilities locally who should be able to help you. You can find a list of wildlife rescues throughout the UK at www.helpwildlife.co.uk

Our phone number is 0844 5868 634 however, please note that between full time jobs and caring for the animals we don't have a lot of time left for answering the phone so contacting us through the website or by email is the best way to get hold of us.

If you would like to adopt an animal please follow the links to the left to the Adopting From Us page
